Course Summary:

This five-day course is designed to concentrate on the planning, design and start-up of Siemens PLC systems. Having completed the SI-S7SYS1 course the knowledge and skills acquired are consolidated and further enhanced.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the course, students will be able to,

  • Customise and Write sophisticated Step 7 programs using Function Blocks.
  • Critically Analyze and Optimise existing user programs.
  • Use PLC Test and Diagnostic Tools to troubleshoot Siemens Simatic S7 PLC systems.
  • Involve participants in workshops, designed to develop their own applications and advance their existing Step 5 programming skills.

  1. Who Should Attend:
  • Individuals who have completed the Siemens Simatic Step 7 Level 1 course Ref. SI-S7SYS1  
  • Individuals who have responsibility for maintaining, troubleshooting existing Siemens Simatic PLC systems.
  • Individuals who want to develop and create sophisticated advanced programming techniques used in Siemens Simatic S7 PLC applications.

  1. Course Prerequisites:
  2. Course participants must have completed the Step 7 Level 1 course Ref. SI-S7SYS1.

While it is possible to participate in the Step 7 Level 2 training course without completing the Step 7 Level 1 course some students may find it to difficult coping with the many skills taught throughout the course.

  1. Follow-on Course:
  2. PID Closed Loop Control.
  3. Communications Point to Point (RS232, Rs422/RS485 Ethernet, TCP/IP between PLC's).
  4. Drives Applications (Siemens Micro-Masters, Motion Controllers etc).
